The Buxton and Skinner Station Printing Company was based in Saint Louis, Missouri from 1878-1999 when they merged with Color Art. Known mostly for their famous print of the 1904 Worlds Fair Grounds in St. Louis, the company was also notorious for lithographic prints and bottle labels made for The Anheuser-Busch Company, based in St. Louis also. Buxton and Skinner originated at 215-219 Chestnut Street, which today is one block off the Mississippi Riverfront area and is under the present day Gateway Arch grounds. The company later moved to 2419 Glasgow Avenue in the city.
Buxton Skinner was well known for lithographic prints, book templates, and printed books, but made many color poster lithographs advertising a multitude of products in it’s heyday.
